Maximilian Günther, speaking to Formula E: "I was managing the race quite well, I had more energy than the two guys in front of me but it was not so easy today to overtake. I saw JEV fighting with Nick for the win and they both went wide at the hairpin and then I got this gap, and for sure went for it."

What happened in qualifying?

Nick Cassidy took pole position for the first of the New York double header, making it two in his rookie season.

The Envision Virgin driver's superpole time of a 01:09.338 saw him claim top spot ahead of DS Techeetah's Jean-Éric Vergne, 0.161 seconds back. Alex Lynn of Mahindra was third, exactly two tenths behind Cassidy, whilst Maximilian Günther was 4th for BMW. Sebastian Buemi (Nissan) and Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) rounded out superpole.
